Canavese. Our territory

Canavese, is the crossroads of fundamental importance that enables the communications between Piedmont and the nations beyond the Alps, and it has always been, for its configuration, the land of passage and permanence of people and tribes and naturally the subject of disputes. This area, a real hallway between Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, offers a great wealth of natural environments, from the plain to the Alps through small valleys, morainic hills and lakes, characterized by microclimates that have enabled, since Roman times, the grapevine growing.

This area, a real hallway between Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, offers a great wealth of natural environments, from the plain to the Alps through small valleys, morainic hills and lakes, characterized by microclimates that have enabled, since Roman times, the grapevine growing.

From La Serra long hill to Gran Paradiso, from Chiasso to Vallèe d’Aoste, the vineyards are always an integral part of this passage, characterized by many castles to everlasting testimony of the feudal lords and the great local past history. The vineyards cultivation, which close to the Alps requires careful cares, testifies a love and a passion for the land with real ancient roots. From the white grape Erbaluce, whose name seems to derive from the legendary nymph Albaluce, you get three types of D.O.C.G. wine: Erbaluce di Caluso, Spumante (sparkling wine) and Passito (raisin wine), proving the great oenological potential of this varietal native vine.
